Fireside Storytelling
This week is slightly different for us at Eriska as the whole island has been reserved for a private party over the weekend. All the guests arrived from all over the globe this afternoon and the host arranged for a Scottish Storyteller to help welcome the guests to Scotland.
So before dinner round the fireplace in the Drawing Room Scot the Storyteller began to talk of legends and history. In truth I was extremely dubious about the idea but having listened to him for only a few minutes I was intrigued. many of the local place names and myths I had heard since my childhood were uncovered and explained. And now not only do we have well informed guests but the staff are all also far better educated now too!!.
It turned out to be a great way to start the weekend and it just shows that it sometimes takes a fresh face and ideas to open our eyes to new concepts.
