Golf Omen
Yesterday a couple of guests decided to have a game of golf. The gentleman played regularly and his partner decided as this was a special anniversary that she would accompany her partner for the round. Realising that the company was most important they set off down the first fairway - him playing and her helping to spot the balls- pretty difficult given the recent rain and the grounds ability to swallow balls and make them invisible!
Anyway on the second hole they set to cross the small bridge and the gentleman turned when he heard a yell from the lady, he described it like a cartoon as she had slipped on the bridge and the more she tried to steady herself the quicker her legs moved the more certain she was to end up on the ground and indeed she did. No harm was done as she landed on a soft piece of grass but a large mark was left on her clothes to proove the accident happened. When they inspected the aforsesaid slippy bridge it was clear that it was definitley not at all dangerous and indeed had good traction so the lady suggested that it might just have been fate telling her not to play golf.
Anyway she still persisted and when they came to the 4th approach again the gentleman was distracted by a scream from behind him. He described the sight as his wife surfing on the grass!! As she placed weight on one foot the ground sank under the pressure and all the ground around rose up as though on a wave. In actiual fact the turf had become delaminated from the ground and the water had become trapped below the surface. But this was all too spooky for the lady who was now convinced that golf courses were not for her, this combined with the now torrential rain allowed the genbtleman to admit defeat and retuen to the stables for a beer. No harm done but maybe the ladies last golf outing!!

The first fairway will have to be relaid before the opening of the next three holes in 2014!

It still won't make a difference to your game Michael, From what Nick Faldo was telling me anyway!

Maybe not Seve but Nick says that losing a ball in the rough is one thing - losing it in the middle of the fairway is unfair and very frustrating. The game is difficult enough as it is when played in proper conditions.

Are you talking about yourself in proper condition? or the course!! And by the way it's Sevie not Seve...
