Retail avenue takes shape!
With the changing rooms now complete and in full operation we are moving onto the space they left behind. Also a few quiet days have given Dennis our resident photographer the chance to drop in and re shoot the rooms for posterity sake especially having followed the project since we started moving Chay out of his shed in December!
Anyway the old changing rooms have not only given us space but also a challenge to link the reception and the new changing rooms together so we came up with a concept which would revitalize the long dull corridor. I rather grandly called this section of the project the retail avenue and so I was not really surprised when I overheard someone mocking me saying "Rodeo Drive had arrived at Eriska". Not really quite true but certainly not a bad image!!
Actually the idea is to turn the changing rooms into little units each with their own entrances and glass walls onto the corridor. This will help rejuvenate the area and also brighten and excite a rather lengthy walk to the changing rooms! So far we have signed up Molton Brown, Johnstones of Elgin - Cashmere and our own wee barber shop. So rather naively I have got into retail and am struggling to stop the female members of the team and family from hijacking the concept and stocking the shops with their own personal preferences on the basis if it does not sell they will always use it!! Step one has been to remove the walls and open up the space, step two is to find the glass walls that were dispatched from Inverness, allegedly, today and step three will be to install the glass and open the space.
So no time for idleness and work continues!

Retail Avenue eh! Maureen loves the idea but I'm not so sure - unless you're stocking up with golf equipment (at sale prices).
