Water, water evrywhere and not a drop to spare!

After a week of pretty wet weather it is not surprising that areas of the island are "no go" areas but what better time for us to mark damper patches on the golf course and to that extent I was delighted this morning to see that our digger was back to finish off the first fairway. Indeed it has been remarkable how the gravel we have laid over the fairway has already started to improve the surface.

Indeed when they first started it looked like they had over estimated the amounts required to complete the job but now it is clear that we may still require some more before topping it all off with soil and letting nature take its course. In effect we have laid a hole new layer of ground which drains horiziontally - providing we have got our levels right- and to that extent today was a good time to revisit the work and mark these areas requiring further attention. At least now we have a plan and as I was told there is no turning back !!

Anyway with all this talk of rain it should not be surprising that we have had a problem with water supply. This time the hotel and main houses are all well supplied but my mother has run out. Rediculous thinking that she is now practically surrounded by puddles but nothing from the taps. Anyway the fault has been found and rectified and no all we have to to is encourage the water top flow. But after my last post I will be wary of looking down the pipe to see if the water is on its way --- just in case it is!
