New Sauna and Steam room
When we built the Swimming pool now some 13 years ago there was a huge discussion as to whether we needed either a Sauna or steam room or indeed either but in the end we managed to include both but they were always a compromise. So it was an ambition to replace them and when we developed the Changing rooms last year we obtained a wee bit more space and the ability to carry out the work so then we just needed both the time and money.
This January we managed to close the pool complex for 2 weeks to carry out the work and persuaded the bank that the money would be well spent. As with all jobs if you are going to do it then do it right. So we took advice from one of our guests, who himself was an expert in the field of Spa design and have now created a real asset to the complex.
The Sauna is now a better design with new wood finish and protection around the stove and special lights and the steam room is over 100% larger than before and has wonderful fibre optic lights and an essence generator which inputs different pleasant odours into the steam mix. Both have a more sophisticated ventilation system ensuring a good consistent air change and although a little behind schedule it is now an area we are proud of and completes our spa conversion which over the last 4 years we have transformed from a swimmingpool to a comprehensive leisure centre and Spa.
