Weather w/c 23rd March
Yesterday afternoon I walked up Ben Lora behind Benderloch with simply a pair of trainers and a fleece. Although it was cool it was not cold and was a pelasant climb. It was a really clear afternoon and we could see to the East Ben Cruachan with a wee dusting of snow in the peak but all around was clear and we had great visability over to Mull and Ben More. So it was a surpirse when I looked up at the hill this morning to see it coated in snow and all around dusted in white.
But as Eriska has its own micro climate and the warm, sea keeps us thawed we have remained green and dry. Anyway now that much of the country has had a white Easter what will be ahead for the next 7 days?
Today: A bright day with some sunny spells. It should be dry but the odd light wintry shower possible so wrap up wamly for the Easter Egg Hunt as there will be a cold with a fresh north to northwest wind. Lying snow will thaw in the sunshine.
Monday: A good deal of dry weather with some sunshine, but scattered wintry showers may develop in the afternoon.
Tuesday: Staying cold throughout with some long sunny or clear spells and just isolated snow showers. Northerly winds slowly easing.
Wednesday: Again dry and bright but beware of overnight frosts.
Thursday:Today should see bright or sunny spells across many parts of Argyll
Friday: will see a change to unsettled conditions with showers or longer spells of rain, and the risk of some sleet and snow over higher hills
Saturday. It could be very windy for a time with a risk of gales or even severe gales.
