weather wc 7th March

When I was out walking last week I met a couple of our guests admiring the cloudless blue sky and as always seems to be the British way our conversation turned to the weather. They explained to me that they came to Scotland three times a year and whilst they always enjoyed the scenery and the people  the weather was always a guiding factor however rather than a deterrent it was a challenge and they continued coming in the hope of a day with clear blue skies, sunshine and crisp outlines and silhouettes of mountains like that particular day and whilst they always hoped they were realistic and never expected but probably being realists thought if lucky they might get one day like this every year.

 However they took great pleasure in telling me that on this particular day they felt especially lucky as it was the fourth on the trot with near perfect conditions- being a more realistic or possibly pessimistic person I of course imagined that I would return to the hotel and find out they had canceled all further visits this year working on the basis that they had had their quota of Scottish perfection and expected nothing but rain for the next 2 visits, luckily they seem like eternal optimists and their booking still currently remain!! Anyway what is ahead for us this week?

Today: Dry with sunny spells. Cloudier towards the hills but much more mild than the last couple of days.

Monday:After a  warmer night early mist patches should clear. Then it will be dry and becoming brighter with good sunny spells developing.

Tuesday: Staying dry with the best of the sunshine along the coast

Wednesday:Another rather cloudy start, soon brightening up with good sunny spells developing. Light winds at all levels.

Thursday: It will stay dry and settled but turning increasingly cloudy with only a few bright or sunny spells. Winds will remain light.

Friday: There will be some sunshine but also overnight frost and fog where skies clear.

Saturday:It is likely to be quite windy with some rain or drizzle.
