New Driving Range Arrangement

Often we think of new ideas, try to plan for all eventualities and then have to alter the plan in practise as the reality of staff and guests kicks in and starts to moderate the new concept. it now seems like an age ago that howard swan arranged for us to build and develop a driving range and practise academy. As with many projects at Eriska we cost most items and then leave the final hurdle to be crossed at a date In the future. So ut was with the driving range organisation and hut, we simply pulled an old chicken shed into the area tied it down to the ground and used the nesting boxes to form a new ball dispensing device.

The problem with this concept is a bit like hens, you cannot be certain when or where they will lay the eggs or drop the balls so some people had a very good load of balls and otehrs had to wait and suffer. this clearly was not good enough so last month we invested in a new ball disperse device and had it built by a specialist to insure it operated correctly. This week the finished plan was delivered and installed and today it began to dispense balls. It si situated in the new purpose built shed and allows shelter from the wind and rain and also sun and heat!

Now the new system is collect a token form the stables and use it whenever you wish to collect the new baskets of balls. regrettably that is where the improvements cease as it is still up to the players to strike the balls cleanly and watch them disappear into the distance. Hopefully having done our part the golfers can now do theirs!!

You must have found enough balls (marked with MH) on the golf course to fill more than one of those new machines!
