Weather wc1st August

Sometimes its hard to believe that the year is racing by but given an advert in one of the papers I saw recently advertising for Christmas I suppose we should start to think about getting ready for the nights drawing in. However this is against a background of most children being only half way through their "Summer " holidays and therefore we would like to think that the best of the weather is still ahead us. Anyway if the weather could not behave for the queen when she visited the western Isles last week it is unlikely to perform for the school children. But we can hope!!

Today: Dull and drizzly start to the day, gradually turning drier with some clear intervals tonight, with the odd light shower these mainly across Argyll where they may merge at times.

Monday:Another variable day when we will have a mixture of sunny intervals and showers, the showers perhaps turning heavy and locally thundery in the afternoon.

Tuesday: A fairly cloudy day with outbreaks of showery rain. Becoming drier and brighter in the afternoon.

Wednesday: There will be variable cloud, some bright spells and also some showers.

Thursday:The morning will be cloudy with rain at times but it should clear and become brighter in the afternoon and early evening.

Friday: Today continues to be characterised by fairly changeable weather. we will see some rain or showers at first, with a tendency for the focus of any wet weather to shift further towards the higher ground

Saturday:Today we are likely to see the best of any dry and sunny weather for the whole week.
