Half term at Eriska is a busy time as families, as well as our other guests who are looking for a relaxing  autumn break, flock to Eriska “get away from it all” and enjoy the opportunities Eriska has to offer.  One of our guests last week, whilst out exploring the island, was quick enough to catch a few snaps of the otters which can often be spotted nearby the shores of Eriska.

Meanwhile, our estate team have been working hard on progressing the sports hall and this morning they were busy working on laying the floor, having already finalised and finished the foundations last week.  No longer do we have our tennis court shed, and instead, it has been temporarily been replaced by fountains of concrete which is slowly decreasing as we move onto the next stage in the building process.  One of our team, Ronnie, is being praised by his efforts digging holes for the gravel to be fed into, very topical at the present moment following the news that all 33 miners in Chile were brought to safety!

Back on Eriska, despite the odd summer like weather we had over the weekend, we are slowly but surely feeling and seeing the change in season as the nights have become darker and the days have become colder.  However, this does not detract from the beauty of Eriska as many guests have commented this week.  One of our American guests even likened Eriska’s  Autumn colours to the fall in Vermont!
